MicroLaw
and
River Run Computers
became "Strategic Alliance Partners" a couple of years
ago. River Run Computers is a 10 year old technology systems
integrator and service provider. Specializing in a broad ranging
of network (Microsoft and Novell), remote access (Citrix
certified), and proactive network
and
system monitoring through their innovative
RSVP
(Regularly Scheduled Visit Program), River Run has
significant technology depth. MicroLaw periodically partners
with River Run in the areas of complex network and in
particular, when the Citrix remote access approach is the best
fit for one of our clients. With a professional staff of more
than 15, River Run offers additional technical depth and support
to MicroLaw's long-time team.
In December of 2003, after nearly
two years of searching, three of the princpals of MicroLaw and
River Run Computers completed a purchase of a building in
Glendale, Wisconsin th
at
had previously been occupied solely by River Run. In January,
MicroLaw left its long-time leased space and moved in with our
new partner. The building is being completely gutted and
remodeled. The goal is to create an intellectually stimulating
environment. We believe this approach will maximize the natural
synergies between the talented MicroLaw and River Run
professional teams.
What this means is that our
complement of nearly 25 legal and technology professionals makes
us a significant technology and business automation force in our
region (Wisconsin / Illinois), and throughout the country - a
classic case of 1 + 1 equals 5! River Run owners
Paul Riedl, Jr. and
Joe Skotarzak share
very similar philosophies with
Renee and
Ross from MicroLaw - a
focus on offering our clients the best, most insightful and most
professional IT services and guidance, whether law practices or
any business type.
Our new Technology Center will be
completed later this year. Needless to say, the troops are
anxious. We'll keep you posted about the development of
our new space (since we're on Camden Road, we're thinking of
calling the building "Camden Yard"). We're looking forward to
being able to invite our friends to a live and virtual Grand
Opening later this year. By the way, our architect, Thor
Sigurdsson gets our strong recommendation - creative and frugal

"After" Renderings

The front 3/4 of
our building - totally gutted except for the "Pink
Monster" - a pile of old insulation - you can begin
to see how the space will be loft-like when finished |

The "nerve
center"of the project - the plans created by our
architect,
Thor Sigurdsson - Thor appreciates the state of
the art "construction office" |

Another view -
looks a little like techno.terrorists have attacked
. . . |

The building's
got good "bones"! The exposed red girders will lend
to the loft appearance |

25 of us are
crammed into 1/4 of the building while the front
gets transformed. Tight quarters and the pinnacle of
70's paneling makes for an "interesting" experience |

We don't want
anyone to think we don't care about the well-being
of our teams! The "gourmet corner" in our temporary
space |

It's
self-explanatory. What you don't see is that it's
the only PortaPotty with an integrated 8 port USB
hub and dual Xeon CPUs |

We take
sanitation seriously! All MicroLaw and River Run
personnel work in a "clean lab" environment courtesy
of our "Sanitation Station" |

Guess we should
have used a UPS during that last thunderstorm |

Judy and Kathy
from River Run - Look at those smiles! Clearly all
our joint employees LOVE this construction process. |

MicroLaw's
Paul and
Sherry
have cozy quarters - the paneling is a special order
from the "That 70's Show" catalog |

Randy's
office - MicroLaw's Senior Systems Engineer. Always
an oasis of neatness - the calm amidst the storm.
Terrie's office, River Run's "Randy Counterpart," is
equally neat . . . wonder what this means
|

Renee from
MicroLaw and Paul from River Run - All these happy
people - must be something in the construction dust
. . . |

Dora from
MicroLaw managed to decorate around all the debris .
. . talk about "Shabby Chic!" |

No one can figure
out why MicroLaw's Craig doesn't come into the
office much . . . even after our on-staff Feng Shui
expert made his space so "serene" |

Ross' attic
"home" - part of the upper level "Executive Suite"
shared by MicroLaw and River Run top management -
clearly no expense was spared . . . |

"Dammit - I told
you guys that crossing Windows XP and a Commodore 64
OS could have devastating effects!" - the "view"
from Ross'
desk in the attic |

The following are the
architectural design renderings for our building. The architects

The "Before" View - Look
in the "Architectural Digest" under "1970 Post-Attractive
Modern". Color? Think: Phlegm |

The projected "After"
View - Sleek, Sophisticated, Professional |

From Ugly Green Duckling
to Sleek and Streamlined |

A look "under the hood"
shows the interplay of flowing shapes and industrial design
with exposed structural elements |

The future reception area
- "floating surfaces" lend to the futuristic industrial
